Pantofola d’Oro

Pantofola d’Oro

The origins of Pantofola d’Oro can be traced to 1886, but it was during the 1950s that Emidio Lazzarini decided he would make his own sports shoes that were much softer and more comfortable than the ones he was used to wearing and within a short period he began crafting football boots for professional players in central Italy.

The boots were to become renowned for their exceptional softness allowing the player’s feet room to move; with these attributes giving outstanding ball control the boots would eventually be worn by elite players across the globe. The shoes secret lay in the soft calf-leather used for the sole plate and their ergonomic form which perfectly followed the contours of the foot, and so the name Pantofola d’Oro – the “Golden Slipper” – was given by the legendary Juventus player John Charles.

Today, Pantofola d’Oro offers its customers the high technical value of a sports shoe combined with the contemporary styling of a leisure shoe.

John Goodwin fell in love with the quality and styling of this shoe brand at Florence and felt that it was right for our customers. The history of the brand coupled with great styling leads us to believe that he will become an important part of our shoe business not only for this season but into the future too.
